Helen A. Wiernasz, 88, of Southington, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016. She was the wife of the late Edward P. Wiernasz.
Born in New Britain on March 13, 1928, a daughter of the late Frank and Michalena (Glownia) Kryszak, Helen received an Associates degree from Post College and was employed by Northeast Utilities as a supervisor in the data processing department for more than 20 years. She was an active member of St. Paul Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of the Ladies Guild and Honor Guard of St. Paul’s. She was also a member of the Lady Knights of Columbus. Helen was an avid golfer and bowler. She also loved to travel.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Marcia Oselinsky and her husband, David, of Pennsylvania and Terri Balavender of Kensington, a daughter-in-law Elana Wiernasz of Arizona, seven grandchildren, Aaron, Jason, Joseph and Brian Wiernasz, Krysten and Kyle Balavender, Alexa and Katrina Oselinsky, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was pre-deceased by, two sons Joseph and Christopher Wiernasz, a sister, Jean Morgenstern and two brothers Edward and Joseph Kryszyk.
Friends and family may call at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M.
Funeral service will be on Thursday March 31, 2016 at 9:00 A.M. from the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul Church, 485 Alling St. Kensington. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery on Burritt St., New Britain.
