It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Marie Motyka, our dear cousin, “aunt” and cherished friend.  Anne passed peacefully at home in the presence of her family and devoted caregivers, Michael and Donna Rogan, on Friday, November 6, 2015 after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

Anne was born on June 2, 1944 to the late Francis J. and Ann (Lewisky) Motyka and leaves her cousin, Thomas Norbut who resided with her, several other cousins, and close friends, Margaret Bishop, Sharon Reckert and Sally Feldman, Michael and Donna Rogan.   Anne graduated from Berlin High School and was a licensed funeral director.  After the passing of her father, she assumed the directorship and continued operation of Francis Funeral Home in Kensington for a number of years.  Ann leaves behind many beloved pets, Bella, Pippa, Maxwell, Harley and Sonny who will miss her devoted care. 

Anne was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, East Berlin, CT.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Berlin, CT, member and past President of the Berlin Garden Club (where she used her gavel freely) and member of the Mattabassett Gun Club serving as secretary and a member of the board of directors.  Anne loved to travel, enjoyed the casino, was an excellent cook, and loved to laugh.  She was a special lady and true friend who will be sorely missed.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Kensington, CT.  Calling hours are on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. 

Everyone is invited to go directly to St. Paul Church 10:00 A.M. on Thursday November 12, for a Mass of Christian Burial.  Burial in West Lane Cemetery, Kensington will follow.
