William D. Herzy, 83, of Kensington, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Portland Care & Rehab Center.  Bill was the husband of Evelyn (Link) Herzy.   Born in New Britain, a son of the late Charles and Josefa (Phister) Herzy, Bill served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Navy.  He retired from Emhart Corporation as a Supervisor.  With two of his brothers, Bill owned and operated Herzy Florist for many years and was a member of St. Paul Church in Kensington.

Besides his wife of 58 years, Bill is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William and Lisa Herzy of Portland, CT, a daughter and son-in-law, Lorena and Randy Boudreau of Georgia, 4 Grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Jennifer and Rachel, 6 Great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three Brothers and two Sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 9 A.M. from the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main Street Kensington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at, 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul Church, Kensington.  Burial with military honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain.

Friends and family are invited to call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 5 – 7 P.M.
