Walter Matthew Koboski, 91, of Kensington, husband of Anne (Perkins) Koboski passed away on Saturday April 19, 2014 at The Hospital of Central CT New Britain.

Born in New Britain, he was a son of the late Walter and Emelia Koboski. 

Walter was a highly decorated Veteran of WWII serving with the fifth Marine Division in the South Pacific as a paratrooper and machine gunner.  He was a member of the Iwo Jima Survivor’s Association and St. Paul Church in Kensington.

Besides his wife of 67 years he is survived by one daughter Annie Wadyka and her husband Walter of West Hartford, one brother Alfred Koboski and his wife Kathy of Berlin, a sister-in-law Hazel Perkins of West Hartford, two Grandchildren Catherine and Amy Wadyka, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by a brother Edward and three sisters, Fran, Helen and Florence.

A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2014 at 7 P.M. at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home 96 Main Street Kensington.  Burial will be in West Lane Cemetery at a later date.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5P.M. until the time of the service.
