Walter Joseph Gorski III passed away peacefully at his home on March 10, 2021 in Fairfax, VA. Walt will be remembered for his love of family, including his son, Walter Joseph Gorski IV, his father Walter Gorski, his mother Joan Pernal Gorski, his wife Holly Pitt Young, and the mother of his son, Denise Gorski. Walt was well known for his kindheartedness, his affection for everyone he met, and his generosity. He was born in New Britain, CT on January 1, 1968. From the day he was born, Walt brought joy to his parents as their only child. He attended Kingswood Oxford high school, West Hartford, CT where he excelled as a student and an athlete. The family lived in Kensington, CT across from Timberlin golf course. Walt began playing golf at the age of eight using his father’s golf clubs. Older golfers were amazed by his swing and talent on the course. He was privileged to golf with the
legendary Sam Sneed. After high school he attended the University of Richmond, Richmond, VA. He then went to Oxford College, in England where he studied and toured Europe. Upon graduation he was appointed to the staff of the powerful Ways and Means Committee of the United States House of Representatives, working with the legendary Chairman Dan Rostenkowski. After his service on Capitol Hill, he passionately advocated
for patients, doctors and hospitals in the health care industry. One of Walt’s greatest achievements was testifying before Congress on healthcare policy. Walt married his first wife, Denise, in 2003, and they soon were blessed with Walter IV, who was the love of their lives. They lived in Fairfax, VA for 10 years. He later married Holly Pitt Young in 2020 and continued to reside in Fairfax. Finally, Walt was a man of faith and he loved God. His middle name is Joseph, the Patron Saint of Family, which is fitting because what he loved most was his family. He will be dearly missed by all all those who survive him, his son Walter, his parents, Joan and Walter Gorski, his wife Holly and his former wife Denise Gorski. Walt will always remain in our hearts.
