Susan (Vasko) Lassen

Susan (Vasko) Lassen, age 63, of Berlin, CT, passed away on Monday March 16, 2015 after a brave battle with breast cancer.  Susan was born on February 25, 1952 to the late William and Albina (LeBrun) Vasko in Harford, CT. 

She graduated from East Catholic High School in Manchester and attended Manchester Community College.  She spent most of her working career in the banking, real estate and mortgage industries – Connecticut Bank and Trust, Fleet Bank, ERA Sargis Breen Real Estate and most recently for ISGN (formerly Fiserv) in Rocky Hill.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Alfred S. Lassen, Jr., and a son Alfred S. Lassen, III, both of Berlin.  She leaves four stepchildren – Sean Lassen and his wife Nancy of Vernon, Eric Lassen and his wife Laura of Manchester, Lori Lassen of Newington and Craig  Lassen and his wife Lisa of New Britain.  She also leaves three beautiful step grandchildren – Erica Lassen, Aaron Lassen and Ethan Lassen-Crawford.  She is survived by three siblings who were a great support during her illness, Emily Gerstenlauer and her husband Walter of East Hartford, Barbara Hofferth of Middletown and Richard Vasko and his wife Margaret of Woodbury, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday March 20th 10:30 a.m. at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home 96 Main Street, Kensington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 a.m. St. Paul Church, Alling Street Kensington.  Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, CT.

Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday March 19th from 5 – 8 P.m. at the funeral home.
