Stephen Jay Hendershot, 67, of Kensington, died peacefully at home on Friday, October 26, 2018. He was a Vietnam Veteran who not only served his country during war, but also served his fellow Veterans afterwards, working his way “up the ranks” until becoming Post Commander of the VFW Post 9929 (Hannon Hatch) in West Hartford 1985 – 1986. He had a variety of professions during his life, but enjoyed working with his hands and in his garden the most. Steve is survived by his loving wife: Kristina and his beloved son: Nathan. He also leaves behind his dog and faithful companion, Markus and his cat Sahara. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 3, from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home 96 Main St, Kensington 06037.
