Stanley Dziob, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2014, with his loving family at his side.  A very intelligent young man, he skipped two grades and graduated at the age of 16.  He taught and mentored many young men at E.C. Goodwin Technical School.  World War II ensued and he proudly served in the U.S. Army with the Corp of Engineers in Normandy and Marseilles, France. In 1949, he married Constance (Lariviere) and built a home in Berlin where they raised five children.  Retiring in 1988, he started his own home inspection business.

Very involved in the community, Stanley helped to form the first Cub Scout Pack in Berlin, Troop 5, and started Berlin's first Farm Team/Little League. He also assisted in establishing the VFW Post 10732, where Stanley was Post Commander from 1980 - 1991. He was also a member of the American Legion, Berlin Senior Center Setback League, Berlin Senior Bowling Team and the Berlin Senior Golf League.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Constance and three sons, Steven, Alan and Stanley, Jr. He was also predeceased by his mother Aniela (Blondek) Dziob, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He will be truly missed for his wit, wisdom, and tender loving care by his family, daughter Janet and David Jacobson, son Daniel Dziob and Patricia Henderson, Grandchildren: Dana Dziob, Megan Annunziata, Lisa and Tom Ratliff, Alan J. Dziob, Adam and Jessica Dziob, and Scott Little, Great Grandchildren: Savannah, Steven, Brooklynn, Gemini, Lissa, Katlyn, Anna, Dallas, Crystal, and Alexzandra; sisters Anna Labritz, Ruth and Frank Kiczuk, Amelia and Richard Donahue, and Jenny and John Pelahatch. He also leaves his special girlfriend, Charlotte "Charlie" Haman.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Kensington.
