Salvatore G. Fazzino

Salvatore G. Fazzino, 64, of Middletown, Connecticut, has found peace with our heavenly Father. He passed away on Palm Sunday, April 13th, 2014. Sal was born in Middletown, Connecticut to Giuseppe and Palma Fazzino who immigrated to the United States from Melilli, Sicily in 1947. He voluntarily enlisted in the Vietnam War and was a Private First Class Soldier in the U.S. Army from October 24th, 1966 to May 28th, 1969.

Sal was a Master Mechanic and owner of Harbor Automotive Gas Station for almost twenty years. He built his first engine at the young age of twelve when his passion for cars was born. Later, he was a Mechanic for the City of Middletown. He was a caring and loving father who instilled strong values in his children who love and will miss him dearly. 

He is survived by his mother: Palma Fazzino of Middletown, Connecticut; his ex-wives: Mary Jane Burke of Richmond, Virginia and Marcella Fazzino of Middletown, Connecticut; three children: Sandra Marie Fazzino of Menlo Park, California, Sara Jane Bereika of Richmond, Virginia, and Shane Joseph Fazzino of Menlo Park, California and a stepdaughter: Anita Huberty. He is also survived by his brother: Nicholas Fazzino of Middletown, Connecticut; his niece and nephews: Jennifer Cook, Joseph Fazzino, Marcus Fazzino and his grandson: Alton Joseph Bereika. He is predeceased by his father: Giuseppe Fazzino; his sister: Maria Fazzino; and his dearest friends who were more like brothers: Michael Mackuliak and Angelo Ciccarello, with whom he served together in Vietnam. He remains immensely loved by his family and friends who will cherish fond memories of him always.
