Ronald "Ron" Cox Jr. Obituary

Ronald "Ron" L. Cox Jr., 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 9th. Born in New Britain on June 30, 1960, he was the cherished son of the late Ronald L. Cox Sr. and Louise (Brighenty) Cox.

Ron was a self-employed Public Adjuster who took great pride in his career, helping countless individuals through challenging times.  Outside of work, Ron was an avid bird hunter, a passionate Yankees fan, and loved spending time in the kitchen, cooking for any occasion. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was hunting in the woods with his dogs, preparing a meal for his family, or watching a college softball game on TV. Ron also cherished family vacations in the beautiful Sunshine State of Florida, where he created lasting memories with loved ones.  Ron dedicated many years to the sport of fast pitch softball, excelling both as a player and a coach. His skill earned him recognition in 2003, when he was inducted into the Connecticut ASA Hall of Fame for Men’s Fastpitch Softball, honoring his outstanding career. Beyond his playing days, Ron continued to contribute to the sport by serving as the chairman of the Connecticut ASA Fast Pitch Hall of Fame committee. His passion for softball left a lasting impression to those who knew him on the field.

Ron is survived by his loving long-time companion, Marsha S. Hillman. He was the proud father of three children, Katie, Charlotte, and Adam Cox. Ron also embraced Marsha’s children, Jean and Sara Azukas, and granddaughter, Lilian Azukas.
