Rejeanne Regan Obituary

Rejeanne (Pinette) Regan, 92, loving wife of the late Donald Regan, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Rejeanne was born in Biddeford, Maine, September 23, 1930, a daughter of the late William Pinette and Anne (Roberge) Pinette and had been a resident of Berlin for 58 years.

She is survived by her loving children Peter (Tetiana) Regan of Southington, Caroline Goldberger of Berlin, Christopher (Dawn) Regan of Higganum, Andrew (Kyle) Regan of Manchester, Ellen (Joel) Sefransky of Mystic, Ann (Vern) Oliver of Portland; her cherished grandchildren Terrance (Sarah), Patrick (Sabrina), April, Molly, Kellyn, Seth, Alexandra, Kate, George, Mae, Diana, Rita, Davit, John, Naomi and Charles; her two supportive older brothers, Charles and Donald both of Maine; many treasured nieces; and nephews.  She was predeceased by her son Rodney; and her siblings Roland, Marcelle, Leopold, Norman, and Jocelyn.

Mom raised her children with quiet, loving stability. We could always count on a terrific sit-down supper, and she’d reflectively say, “but for breakfast you were on your own”. Each one of us had an individual bond with her and that became extremely evident in her final days.

She never met a child she didn’t get a kick out of. She was a master grandmother. Expert at babyrocking which then turned into imaginative play, coloring, and puzzle building, which then progressed into unconditional support for the teen, and young adult years. She kept it simple, she kept it hopeful, she kept it joyous; that was her way, and her presence was the prize.

She dabbled in work as a retail clerk. Her Catholic faith being very important to her, Rejeanne was a 58 year member of St. Paul Church. She grew up ice skating, dancing, playing sports and card games; basketball, cribbage and set back being her favorites. Even until recently, she was an oft desired set back partner.

A 1948 translation of a high school classmate’s description of Rejeanne has held true for the past 75 years and reads, “I can say without fear of being wrong that our friend Rejeanne is valued and loved by all her companions. With such delicacy, she knows how to be selfless to please others. What joy she’ll bring to those who’ll be lucky enough to be around her!”
