Nicholas A. Ruggiero, 91 previously of Cromwell, CT and West Palm Beach, FL passed away December 23rd, 2014.  Born in Hartford, a son of the late Germanio and Theresa Ruggiero and the husband of Helen Ruggiero of West Palm Beach FL.
He served in the Navy during WW II., Returning to Hartford where he retired as Chief building inspector in 1986 after 30 years of service.  After retiring, he continued to supervise many CT projects and served on architectural and zoning boards in CT and FL.
Besides his wife, Nicholas is survived by his children: Wayne Ruggiero and his wife of Ocala FL, Jerry Ruggiero and his wife of Berlin CT, Nicole Ruggiero Knight of Bedford TX. Grandchildren, Lisa Ruggiero, Mark Ruggiero, Kelly Rydecki, Brian Ruggiero, Kathryn Knight, Erin Knight and three great Grandchildren, a step daughter Barbara Weiss and grandchildren Lisa Aronson and Greg Weiss.
He was predeceased by a brother Anthony Ruggiero and sister Nina Montanile of Wethersfield.  Funeral services will be held on January 2, 2015 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home 96 Main Street Kensington,  Burial with military honors will follow at the State Veterans CT cemetery in Middletown, CT.
