Mary (Tarca) Rampone, 95, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 3, 2024 at LiveWell in Plantsville, surronded by her loving family She was the loving wife of the late Henry Rampone. Mary was born in New Britain, February 3, 1929, a daughter of the late John Tarca and Theresa (Bonalini) Tarca and was a lifelong Berlin resident. Mary was a member of the Berlin Senior Center, AARP, the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, and a parishioner of St. Paul’s Church. She was employed for many years at General Electric in Plainville, and then as a secretary for the CT. Department of Transportation until her retirement. Mary loved to spend time with her family either just for a visit or cooking her Italian meals and entertaining. Mary loved the beach and would spend many summers at Point O’Woods, Hammonasset State Park and Rhode Island beaches with her family. She is survived by her children Mary Ann Rampone of Woodbury (Bob Gorbett), Fred (Laurie) Rampone of Nevada, Henry (Catherine) Rampone of Killingworth, Joseph (Anne) Rampone of Berlin and Teresa Mednick of Higganum; 8 grandchildren Kate, Kyle, Ryan, Kailene, Matthew and Zachary Rampone, Emily and Jordyn Mednick; her sister Irene Holigan of W. Yarmouth, MA., several nieces; and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Anita Slusarski, Aldo Tarca, Santina Pellegatto, Fred and Peter Tarca.
Mary’s children would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at LiveWell in Plantsville for the excellent care, love, and compassion provided to our mom for the several years she lived there.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours at Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul Church, 485 Alling St., Kensington. Services will be livestreamed at this link: https://stpaulkensington.org/live Inurnment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in New Britain.
