Louis Peter Marino 84, of Kensington passed away on Friday February 28, 2014 at his home.  Born in New Britain he was the son of late Louis and Mary (Gherlone) Marino and the husband of the late Shirley (Smith) Marino.

He retired from Spring Manufacturing Co., Louis served in the U.S. Marines and was a  member of St. Paul Church Kensington.

Louis is survived by a daughter Michelle and Wayne Whitney of Berlin, a sister Elsie Pfister and her husband Vinnie  three grandchildren, Bree Haroutunian and her fiancé Angel Ortiz , Rae Buckberrough and her husband Thomas, and Mickey Haroutunian and his wife Whitney, five great grandchildren Kaleb, Lyla, Bryson, Liam, and A.J.

Besides his wife, and parents he was predeceased by a son, Mark Louis Marino and a sister Eleanore Pfister and her husband Frank.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 9:15 from the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home 96 Main Street, Kensington followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at St. Paul Church Kensington.  Burial with military honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain.

Friends and family are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday March 4 from 8:30 a.m. till time of service.

The family would like to thank all his friends at Ledgecrest Healthcare and his wonderful nurse and caregivers from Interim, and a special thanks to his homemaker and pal Anna.
