Kenneth J. Stewart, 56, of Rocky Hill, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2021. Kenny was born on July 4th, 1964 in Hartford, CT and was the son of John and Sara (Reynolds) Stewart of Rocky Hill. A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Kenny was a 1982 graduate of Rocky Hill High School. He spent his professional career for the United States Postal Service, working as a letter carrier for over 30 years for the Rocky Hill branch. Throughout his time with USPS, he was well known for his work ethic, loyalty, and personable demeanor. In 2014, Kenny was honored with the USPS Postal Hero Award for saving the life of a customer on his route after the elderly man had fallen outside in freezing temperatures. This is just one example of the untold times he went out of his way to lend a helping hand, with no expectation of payment or praise. Kenny was humble, self-deprecating, and authentic. He will be remembered for his enthusiasm, infectious laughter, sense of humor, and detailed trivia of a range of topics. His love of cars, video games, puzzles, old TV shows, politics, and classic rock music was matched only by his extensive knowledge of these varied interests and hobbies. Kenny is survived by his immediate family members: father, John (Jake) Stewart, of Rocky Hill; brother, Andrew Stewart, of Westord, MA; sister, Elizabeth Stewart, of Lowell, MA; and sister, Jennifer Bosso, of Berlin, CT. He was predeceased by his mother, Sara. Arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations in Kenny’s memory can be made to Connecticut’s chapter of the American Diabetes Association.
