Joyce Makris, 95, of Kensington, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016, with her family by her side.

She was the wife of the late William P. Makris.

Born in Greece, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Maria (Papagianis) Petridis, Joyce was a devoted member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in New Britain for many years.

Joyce is survived by a daughter:  Maria (Raymond) Bylek of Colchester, two sons:  Perry (Heather) Makris of Acton, MA and Nicholas (Su) Makris of McLean, VA, 5 grandchildren:  Joyce Bylek, William Makris , Andrew Makris, Alyssa Williams and Emily Makris and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was pre-deceased by 2 brothers:  John and Elias and 2 sisters:  Irene and Rigo.

Friends and family may call at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington on Thursday, June 9, 2016, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A funeral Liturgy for Joyce will be celebrated on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 301 West Main St., New Britain.  Everyone is asked to go directly to church. Internment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, New Britain.
