Joseph Arthur Fiori, 88, of Berlin husband of 63 years to Verna (Lirot) Fiori passed away on Saturday June 13, 2015 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 27, 1926 in Kensington son of the late Attilio and Linda (Fiori) Fiori. Joseph had been a resident of Berlin his entire life, attended Berlin Schools and was a graduate of E.C. Goodwin Technical School. A Veteran of W.W. II, serving in the U.S. Navy Carpenter’s Mate Third Class (CB) USNR.
A tool and die maker, he retired from the New Britain Machine Co. after 41 years of service. Joseph was a proud member of the Kensington Fire Rescue for 67 years and held various offices during that time period.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Andrea (Fiori) Brandl of Berlin, a brother and sister in law, Richard and Irene Fiori of Kensington, several nieces and nephews and his faithful canine companion, Dolly. Joseph was pre-deceased by a sister Rena Barillaro, a brother Robert Fiori and son – in - law Alan Brandl.
Everyone is invited to go directly to St. Paul Church, Alling Street, Kensington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015. Burial with military honors will follow in the family plot in Maple Cemetery, Berlin.
