Gregory A. Parker, 74, loving husband of Debra (Blanar) Parker, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
Greg was born in Hartford on October 19, 1950, was a son of the late Joseph and Lillian (St. Pierre) Parker, and had been a Berlin resident for almost 40 years. He served his country with the U.S. Army and was employed by the Aetna Insurance Co. for 45 years until his retirement. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams and, in his spare time, he loved working in the yard, bowling, and playing cards with his family. Greg was an amazing husband, dad, and grandfather, who will be missed dearly.
In addition to his wife, Debra, he is survived by his two daughters Crystal Parker and her partner Jonathon Turner, and Cheryl McGowan and her husband Sean; his cherished grandchildren Rowan and Lillian McGowan; his brothers and sisters, Sr. Joanne Parker, Tom (Judy) Parker, Paulette Corbin, Gary (Diane) Parker, Carol (Mark) Thompson, Wayne Paker and his partner Laura Mullane, and Connie (Rob) Capone; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours at Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, Monday, December 16, 2024 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Kindly omit flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Greg may be made to the American Cancer Society or Smilow Cancer Hospital.
