Florence J (Szufnarowski) Nowek

Florence J. (Szufnarowski) Nowek, 97, of Kensington passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020.  Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (Dobranski) Szufnarowski and the wife of the late Philip Nowek Sr.  She worked as a timekeeper for American Hardware in New Britain for many years.  Her love and passion was her home and her devotion to her family.  Additionally, she was a member of Holy Cross Church in New Britain.

Florence is survived by three sons and one daughter: Philip Jr. and his wife Joyce Nowek of Wallingford, Michael Nowek Sr. of Kensington, Bruce Nowek of Kensington, and Catherine (Nowek) Salafia and her husband Ronald Salafia of Hobe Sound, Florida.  Florence is also survived by her grandchildren, Mark Salafia, Michael Nowek Jr., Brian and his wife Rachel Nowek, Lisa (Nowek) Lau and her husband Kevin Lau, and her great-grandchildren Collin and Mara Nowek, and Nylah Lau, as well as several nieces and nephews and cousins.  Florence was predeceased by her brother and two sisters, Frank Szufnarowski, Valerie Bukowski, and Helena Lugli. 

A Mass in celebration of Florence’s life will be held at Holy Cross Church in New Britain at a later date.  Burial will be private.
