Evelyn L. Herzy

Evelyn L. Herzy, 93, passed away peacefully , leaving behind a lifetime defined by love, devotion, and quiet strengths.  She lived a long and meaningful life and will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, and the deep care to her family and those around her.

Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose greatest joy came from time spent with her family.  She was known for her strong work ethic and dedication, having worked at Sunny Border Nursery in Kensington for over 25 years, where she formed lasting friendships and took great pride in her work.

She is survived by her son William R. Herzy; her grandchildren Matthew Skiffington and his wife Ashley, Jessica Digirolamo, Jennifer LaVorgna and her husband Vincent and Rachel Carlson; and her great-grandchildren Ashley, Ayden, Elizabeth, Elliott, Chloe, Nora, Alora, Scarlett, Christian and Elijah.

Evelyn was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, William D. Herzy; her daughter-in-law Lisa Herzy; her daughter Lorena Carlson; and her parents Frank J. Link and Nellie Link.

Evelyn’s legacy of love, hard work and kindness lives on through her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.  She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A private graveside committal service was held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain.  Arrangements were under the direction of the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington.
