Catherine Carolyn (Rapacz) Barrett

Catherine Carolyn Barrett Catherine “Kay” Rapacz Barrett 101, wife of the late Joseph Barrett formerly of Berlin, CT died on April 15, 2023. She had been living with her daughter, Carol Ann Goodhart and husband Eric in Hubbardston, MA. since the fall of 2020. During those years she was always cognizant and would greet Carol and Eric every morning with a cheerful “good morning, how is everyone”. Her quiet attentive manner and interest in the wellbeing of others is the way many remember her. Born in Northampton Nov 15, 1921, one of eight children of Andrew & Caroline Rapacz. She was a 1940 graduate of New Britain High. Her two kid brothers, Carl (Ted) and Richard live in CT. Ted with his niece, Susan in Berlin and Richard with his wife, Pam, in Wethersfield. She is predeceased by, Henry, John, Edward, Estelle Jaskolka and Helen Pinkus.  Sadly, she is also predeceased by two of her three grandchildren:  Marla Ann Parent and Mark Liburdi, Carol’s children. She is survived by her grandson   Andrew, his wife Melissa of Wethersfield, her great grandson Cameron, (who is in the Navy) Marla Ann and her husband Jeffrey’s son of Southington; great granddaughter, Gianna, Mark and his widow, Gina Liburdi ‘s daughter in Michigan. She leaves many nieces and nephews. Two who were particularly watchful of her in her later years are the daughters of the late John and Helen Rapacz, Susan and Elizabeth in CT.  Funeral proceedings will begin on Monday, April 24, at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, from 10 -11, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30 AM, St Paul Church, 485 Alling St. Kensington.  Burial will follow at Maple Cemetery
