Bernice M. Leone, 98, of Auburn, Maine, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 5, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Leone.

Bernice was born in Rutland, Vermont, September 29, 1927 and was a resident of Plainville and Kensington, CT. for many years.  Following the death of her husband Joseph, she moved to Berlin and in 2017, relocated to Maine to be closer to her family and friends.

She is survived by her children Robert M. Gould, wife Linda of Bowdoin, ME., Randall J. Gould of Kingsman, KS., and Cynthia Girolaira, husband Edward of Murrell’s Inlet, SC; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; her sister-in-law Sheila Jackson of Winsted, CT; many nieces; and nephews.  She was predeceased by her first husband John M. Gould; her mother Marion Jackson; her children John L. Gould; and Sandra A. Marstaller; and her brothers Ernest, Earl, and Richard Jackson.

Bernice’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, Friday, May 15, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.  A prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. www.BerlinMemorialFuneralHome.com
