Arthur R. Tyler 99, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Ledgecrest Convelescent Home. He was the son of the late Arthur and Irene (Watson) Tyler.
He had been employed by NY/NH/Hartford Amtrack for 33 yrs. as a baggage clerk. He was a member of the Methodist Church, the BPOE Elks of Southington, the IPEC of Kensington and the Transportation-Communication Union. Arthur was a U S Army veteran serving during WWII in Ardennes; Central Europe; Normandy and Northern France Rhienland. He was awarded the Distinguished Unit Badge; European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He loved bowling, dancing, country music and the Rock Cats.
Arthur is survived by two daughters Patricia Delaney and (Doug Churchill) of Plainville, June Lehnhoff of Longmont CO.; one son Robert Tyler and (Jenny) of Toronto Ontario, Canada.
Friends and family are invited to call on Friday March 22, 2013 at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home 96 Main Street Kensington from 5 – 7 P.M. A funeral service will be held for Art on Saturday 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.
