Alberta C. (Butchie) Genovese

Alberta C. (Butchie) Genovese, 80, of Wallingford, beloved wife of James Genovese, Jr. died on Thursday in New Haven.
She was born on June 17, 1933 in New Haven. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Maude (Mickel) Hackley. Alberta had lived in the shoreline area and St. Petersberg, FL for many years before moving to Wallingford five years ago.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving family; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Selene Genovese of Wallingford and Joseph and Dorothy Genovese of East Hampton; four daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Steve Janiszcak of Westbrook, Vanessa and Anthony Phillips of St. Petersberg, FL, Nancy and David Cordero of Clinton, and Georgette Genovese and significant other Bill Arms of East Haven; one brother, James Hackley of Louisiana; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, James Vincent Genovese III.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9am from the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Kensington, followed by a mass of Christian burial in St. Joseph's Church, 195 South Main Street, New Britain at 10am. Burial will be in the family plot in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5pm - 8pm.
