Laurent Joseph Fournier, 102, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 20 to join his beloved wife of 72 years, the late Eleanor Kahms Fournier.  Laurent was born in Biddeford, Maine on October 10, 1914, the son of Joseph and Aldea Fournier.  He lived in New Britain and Cromwell before marrying Eleanor and moving to East Berlin where they raised three children.  They lived in Utah for 10 years before returning to East Berlin 20 years ago.   Larry was retired from New Britain Machine where he worked for 36 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Church, East Berlin.  Larry loved playing golf and was quick to offer help to anyone who asked about their swing; he spent many hours swinging his club in his basement where he had a driving net and putting area. Laurent is survived by his three children, Laurie Kukler and her husband John of Idaho, James and his wife Pamela of Wyoming, and Sharon and her husband Dennis of Berlin, with whom he lived; six grandchildren, JoAnn Davis, Scott Nemit, James Fournier all in Idaho, Laurie Nelson of Berlin, Nickola Fournier of California, Paul Phaneuf of East Berlin; 12 great grandchildren , 4 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Georgann Leibe whom he loved like his own daughter.  Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Fernand and Paul, and his sisters Gilbert Beaupre, Germaine Bradbury, Simeone Guiffrida, and Irene Cloutier. Berlin Memorial is in charge of arrangements. Services and burial will be private.
