Clarissa (O’Connell) Dacey, wife of Robert J. Dacey, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017.

Born in East Berlin, CT on November 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Frances (Dutton) O’Connell.

Clarissa was a lifelong resident of East Berlin and one of the longest serving parishioners of the United Methodist Church of East Berlin. She graduated from Berlin High School, class of Class of 1948, and served as the librarian for the East Berlin Library for 25 years.  Clarissa was the Democratic Deputy Register of voters for many years and was active in the Little League as Treasurer, the Cub Scouts as Den Mother and had a difficult time saying NO to charitable fundraisers.  Clarissa was most of all a loving wife, wonderful mother and a good friend.

In addition to Robert, her loving husband of 62 years, she is survived by two sons:  Thomas Dacey of Old Lyme and Daniel Dacey and his wife Lynn, of Medina, Ohio and a granddaughter:  Jaclyn Dacey of Medina, Ohio. 

Clarissa was pre deceased by her brother who was killed in action during the Korean War.

The family would like to the Berlin Visiting Nurses and Milika, her caregiver, for their care and compassion.

Friends and family are invited to call at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 4 – 6 p.m. 

A funeral service for Clarissa will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the East Berlin Methodist Church, 139 Main St., East Berlin with the Rev. Sun Yong Lee officiating.  Everyone is asked to go directly to the church.  Burial will follow in Wilcox Cemetery, East Berlin.
