Chester J. Symolon, 88, husband of the late Dolores (Spilka) Symolon of Kensington, peacefully passed away at his home on Thursday August 9, 2018. Born in New Britain, the son, of the late Sigmund and Mary Golan Symolon, Chester resided in Kensington most of his life. He retired from Raymond Engineering (Kaman) in Middletown where he held many positions including a Draftsman, Marketing, Engineering, and retired as a Project Manager. As an avid golfer Chester was a long time member of the Timberline Men's Club holding positions of Secretary and Treasurer, and a member of the South Kensington Volunteer Fire Department and St. Paul Church in Kensington. Chester had a deep affection for all his family, friends and neighbors immediately dropping what he was doing to help someone. Besides his love for helping others, his love for wood working was so enduring, he decided he would design and build his own house for his wife and children.
He is survived by three sons: Michael Symolon of Farmington, Daniel, and his wife, Janice of Burlington, Gary, and his wife, Christine of Windham, New Hampshire, a daughter: Margaret Symolon of Kensington, 9 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren, two sisters: Regina Ciss of Plantsville and Joanne Uliasz of Southington, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and Family may call at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Kensington on Wednesday, August 15th from 5 – 7pm
A funeral service will be on Thursday, August 16th, at 9am at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Paul Church, 485 Alling Street, Kensington. Burial will follow at South Kensington Burial Grounds in Kensington.
