John A. Padelli, 91, of Kensington, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Apple Rehab in Cromwell.
John was born in New Britain, March 3, 1932, the son of the late Antonio and Mary Padelli and had been a lifelong Kensington resident. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War serving on the USS Intrepid and USS Currituck. John was employed as a machinist for Sherwood Tool Co. until his retirement. He was a member of the Italian Independent Political Club in Berlin, and used to play the fife in the St. Paul’s Fife and Drum Corps. John was an avid golfer, bowler, and loved playing the accordion.
He is survived by his loving children Robert and Marsha Padelli, Diane and Joseph Pelletier Jr., Anthony Padelli and fiancée Lori Vasi; his grandchildren Micheal, Kristina, David, Rachael, Matthew and Joseph III; 2 great-grandsons Zachary and Logan; and nephew Robert Slade. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Slade.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Church 485 Alling St., Kensington. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Alzheimer’s Association www.ALZ.org.
