We are saddened to announce the passing of David A. Wells (D mole) on Jan. 12, 2024 at HOCC.
He was born in New Britain on Nov. 13, 1944 to the late Ernest C. and Dorothy Harris Wells and grew up in Kensington where he resided. Dave had a lucrative career as an accountant, retiring in 2003 from the State of CT., DOT.
Dave was the proverbial “life of the party” with his charming personality, he made friends wherever he went. He was a man of many stories and with his infectious laugh he will forever be remembered for the good times we all shared with him. Dave was a kind, generous man with a big heart. He supported many charities and was active in civic organizations including the Elks lodge. He had a love of cars, regretting the day he sold his ’62 corvette and will be remembered for his blue ‘55 Chevy pickup with his Pabst Blue Ribbon beer tap gear shift.
Dave enjoyed many activities through the years including snowmobiling, camping in Vermont, hanging out at Sound View beach, kayaking and his favorite, riding around in his truck with his black lab, Shaq, going to the lake every day.
Dave leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years Theresa (Donovan), his son, Benjamin and wife Vivian Martinez-Wells and daughter, Tracey Cochran as well as his grandchildren Ryan, Reilly, Trent, Mason Angelo, and Isabel. Also left are his siblings, Donald (AnnMarie), Joan Niles (Richard) and Gary and several nieces and nephews. Dave was a true friend to many and leaves behind many long-lasting friendships that he treasured.
Family and friends are invited to a calling hour at Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dave may be made to a charity of one’s choice. www.Berlinmemorialfuneralhome.com
