Dana M Sherwood

 Dana M. Sherwood, 72, of Colchester, Connecticut died suddenly on November 28, 2023.  Born on October 23, 1951 in Bangor, Maine, Dana grew up in Bolton, Connecticut and later resided for many years in Colchester.  Dana was well liked and respected by all who had the opportunity to know him and he cherished his neighbors and friends.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed working in the woods, hunting and fishing.  He had been a member of the Colchester Fish and Game Club.  Dana retired in March of 2022 after many years of service at the Triumph Group, of West Hartford, Connecticut.

Dana is survived by his son Jason Sherwood of Deer Isle, Maine and his three grandchildren Alex, Hannah and Vanessa Sherwood of Blue Hill. Maine.  He was also survived by his significant other, Joanne Merrill of E. Haddam, Connecticut, his sisters Marie Knapp of Dedham, Maine, Fay LaPlace of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Melinda Noyes of Robbinston, Maine, and several loving nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by his parents Vaughn and Barbara Sherwood and his brother Blaine Sherwood.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service being held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Maple Cemetery, 1165 Worthington Ridge, Berlin, Connecticut.  In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations be made to the Connecticut Humane Society at CTHumane.org.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, Connecticut.
