John P. Slowikowski, Jr., 68, of Kensington, husband of Debra (Messina) Slowikowski, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain campus.  Born in Middletown, on January 11, 1949, the son of the late John P. and Helen (Sbona) Slowikowski, John graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School.  He was employed as a metal finishing polisher at Colt Manufacturing Co., West Hartford for 43 years before retiring in 2015.  John enjoyed kayaking, hiking and spending time in his yard feeding the birds and all the animals that wandered in.  He was a parishioner of St. Paul Church, Colts Retirement Club and several hiking clubs. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Olivia. 

Besides his wife, John is survived by a son:  John P. and his wife Allison (Pippa) Slowikowski of Cheshire, 2 sisters:  Victoria Urgo and Mary Hogan, 2 granddaughters:  Olivia Slowikowski and Kiley Pippa and many nieces, nephews, family and close friends.

A Funeral will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 at 9:00 AM from the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington and at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Church, 465 Alling St., Kensington.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
